Dr. Yasquina Benjamin grew up in Batey Margarita and is the daughter of Pastor Jacobo, one of our directors. She has committed to living in Margarita and providing medical care for various villages in partnership with the Del Rey Ministries team. Del Rey has constructed a home and small clinic for Dr. Benjamin in Margarita, where she functions as what we would know as a “primary care” physician. Her scope of work includes family care, including early diagnosis of illnesses that need a higher level of care. Dr. Benjamin is equipped with an ultrasound machine that is critical in women’s care as well as other diagnostics. Dr. Benjamin also visits many of the other villages in her region.
We have just been given the seed money to purchase a used vehicle to enable Dr. Benjamin to visit more villages, more often. Please pray that we can find a good used vehicle for her!
